Platform Authentieke Journalistiek becomes Momus

Platform Authentieke Journalistiek (PAJ) will cease to exist in 2025. In its place will come Momus.

Momus aims to uncover the full story with and for you: the bad and the good; the problem and the solution.

Momus will continue investigative journalism. We firmly believe in the importance of critical, in-depth research that holds those in power accountable. But we also believe that this time requires a broader approach. There is more than one way to hold power accountable.

More and more people have become disconnected from the news out of frustration or despair. Additionally, there is a growing lack of trust in the media. We hope to change this by also investigating how we can solve societal problems. What works, what doesn’t, and why? By doing this transparently, we aim to rebuild trust.

Momus seeks to uncover the full story: the bad and the good; the problem and the solution.

Momus will not only tell you the full story, but we will also do so in more ways than before. In addition to written articles, we will also create podcasts, videos, and other visual content. During Meet-ups, you can meet us in person and ask us anything about our work and share your own ideas.

It will also be easier to stay up to date with our work. By subscribing to our newsletter or following us on social media, you’ll never miss anything again.

Fortunately, we are supported by many people in this transformation process. The Stimuleringsfonds voor de Journalistiek (Journalism Fund) helps us—financially and in word and deed—with the further expansion and professionalization of our collective. New talents Marit Fokkink and Nina Zibetti have joined the team over the past year. Mathijs Duringhof assists us in the development of podcast production, and Peter Lipton supports us in video and other visual content. Katrien van Leeuwen is focusing on the development of our new branding strategy, and designer Gijs Lammers is creating a new visual identity. We hope to share the results with you by early 2025.

We’d love to involve you, the reader, friend, fan, or critic, in this process. We have many ideas ourselves, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t room for your input. Feel free to reach out through our socials, or by sending an email to one of our journalists.
